Asr Foundation:

The Asr Foundation is committed to gathering, preserving, and digitising rare images, old records, periodicals, and books illuminating the history the Indian subcontinent. Making these materials accessible to scholars and researchers is one of their long-term aims. The Asr Foundation also keen in helping publishers create high-quality items and publish books. The Asr Foundation uses its collection to host virtual and physical exhibitions on various subjects for the general public. Upon formal request, the foundation has loaned its items to various organizations for exhibitions across the country. The foundation believes that these initiatives will pique the interest and curiosity of younger generations, helping them comprehend the past and create a more peaceful future for themselves and others.

The founder and collector:

Dr. Mohammad Sabah Siddiqui, a medical doctor, is the founder of the Asr Foundation. He works as a general practitioner and resided in England with his wife and four young children. Recently, he moved with his family to Ontario (Canada). He finished his medical training in England, Indian and in Ukraine. He is fluent in many languages. He was born in Jamui, a small town of province Bihar, India. From the very beginning, he developed a deep interest in history, art, and architecture. As a child, his journey of collection began with collecting coins, postal stamps, and paper currencies. Later, his exposure to photography sparked a deep interest in images and its impact. Now, he is actively collecting rare photographs from the past, focusing on a few interesting themes. Initially, his collection started as a hobby, which later transformed into his passion. Currently, he took it as a mission to secure them and pass them on to the next generation.
